Our Story
Born from a love of fine tea and the craftsmanship of Ireland, Bakshi Sligo brings the finest leaves of India to your cup — with honesty, care, and intention.
Our Story
Bakshi Sligo began not as a business idea, but as a shared dream between two people — me and Ashish — who believed in building something meaningful together. Growing up in India, tea was never just a drink. It was part of daily life — served to guests, shared with family, and offered during moments of connection. Tea meant comfort, warmth, and welcome. When we moved to Ireland, we discovered something beautiful — the Irish share the same love for tea. Whether in homes, cafés, guesthouses, or hotels, tea plays an important role in hospitality and everyday life. That realization sparked an idea. What if we could bring the richness of Indian tea traditions into Irish hospitality? What if we could create a brand that represents not just tea — but connection, culture, and warmth? Bakshi Sligo was born from that vision. It began with small steps — researching teas, working with suppliers, designing packaging, and planning how to introduce our teas into homes and hospitality businesses across Ireland. We started with sampler boxes, not just as products — but as invitations. Invitations for people to discover flavours, experience culture, and build connections through tea. Bakshi Sligo represents our journey — from India to Ireland — blending tradition, passion, and ambition into something lasting. And this is just the beginning.

Every blend is tasted, adjusted and packed by hand in small batches. Quality is not a promise — it's a practice.
Our farmers are paid well above market rate. A good cup starts long before it reaches your kitchen.
Eco-friendly packaging, minimal waste, and a commitment to the land that feeds our craft.
The People Behind the Cup
Born in Kolkata, trained in Darjeeling, based in Sligo. Arjun founded Bakshi with one goal: to give Indian tea the platform it deserves in Ireland.
A Sligo native with a background in artisan food production, Siobhán ensures every tin that leaves our workshop meets the highest standard.
Based in Assam, Rajan is our connection to the land. He visits our partner gardens throughout the year, maintaining the trust that makes Bakshi possible.
Our Journey
From a small idea in Sligo to a growing community of tea lovers across Ireland — here's how we got here.
Arjun travels to Assam for the first time and meets the Hazarika family — a partnership that still continues today.
We open our workshop in Sligo and begin blending our first three teas — all sourced directly from partner gardens in India.
We add two Nilgiri gardens to our sourcing network, broadening our range with lighter, more floral blends.
Bakshi goes digital — bringing our hand-crafted teas to doorsteps across Ireland and beyond, one tin at a time.
